Description

Suhana Special Urad Crisps Papadums are Indian large round wafers, also known as pappadums, made of urad flour. They are rolled in thin paper and dried in the sun. The papads are flame-burned by placing them on a metal rack a few inches above the burner. They will expand under the heat. Move the papad quickly and evenly so that it does not burn. Repeat on the other side. In the South, they are deep-fried in oil. They will expand and crumble in the hot oil. Remove with tongs and place on paper towels to remove excess oil. Papads are served as an accompaniment to cilantro chutney or as an accompaniment to biryani, pulao and curry. A staple in every Indian home.
