Description

“Mehmet Efendi Kurukahveci” is the most popular coffee in Istanbul. Its brand has a tradition of three generations and is one of the symbols of the city.

In front of the company building, where the beans are ground and packed, a long queue of tourists and city residents forms every day, who come especially for the most famous Turkish coffee – Mehmet Efendi.

Making Turkish coffee:

1. Pour the coffee into a pot. Add sugar and pour in cold water. Proportion 2 teaspoons of coffee to 1 small cup.

2. Boil the coffee, stirring gently, be careful not to boil the coffee over. This is the most difficult part of the operation.

3. Remove from the heat for a moment and then boil again. You can skim off the foam with a spoon or repeat the operation – after about the fifth boiling, the foam disappears.

4. Boil again and slowly pour the remaining coffee down the side of the cup.

5. Wait a moment for the ground grains to sink to the bottom.

6. Serve with a small glass of water and a sweet addition.
